Mk.96 Land Battleship by Louisvillian Mk.96 Land Battleship by Louisvillian
The primary treaded land battleship used by the Central Galactic Union Army during the Zaaroft War was the Mk.96 Rhinoceros Land Battleship; designed as a heavy assault and artillery platform, the Rhinoceros can roll into the battlefield armed with an array of missiles, cannons, and a modular weapon. Its wide treads give it superior ground pressure quality and allow it safe passage over most ground types, even mud and snow, despite it weighing over five thousand tons; furthermore, it can carry up to five hundred troops plus their vehicles and equipment. A retractable landing pad has enough space for a medium-sized aerodyne. With these weapons and armour systems combined, the Mk.96 is a potent and deadly battlefield weapon, deployed on the Brigade level in the Union Army.

I wonder what powerplant would be needed to even budge this beast. The traction would have to enormous and the center of gravity would have to placed on a width of at least 3/4th of the length. There are limitations to land vehicle design. But it is fearsome looking nonetheless.

Nuclear-powered, as the description indicates.
And with that data, I can now posit a width: maybe 98 to 100 meters?

Oouch. 4 208mm's AND 100 machine guns? Not really something you want to go against unless you have something that packs a really serious punch. Maybe a nuke?
Great piece.

I changed it to only 20 MGs, all remote-operated. But still, nothing to sneeze at for anti-personnel.
